DAY 1: MASTERCLASS EMDR 2.0 IN CLINICAL PRACTICE
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: EMDR 2.0 is a version of EMDR therapy based on the standard EMDR protocol, but with some powerful adaptations used in the implementation of the therapy. EMDR 2.0 is based upon the working memory theory used within the AIP model. Techniques have proven effective in clinical experience with intensive treatment programs for individuals suffering from complex PTSD, as well as in standard psychotherapy treatment. Scientific research, which will be cited, validates the effectiveness of various types of working memory-taxing tasks on the reprocessing for traumatic memories. Research has shown that EMDR 2.0 not only provides effective treatment, but that it frequently helps desensitize trauma memories at a faster tempo (less sessions). Those who are new to EMDR 2.0 are requested to first attend the basic 2.0 online course available here at a 50% reduced rate. You will receive this code after registering for the 2.0 Masterclass Training. This code is only for use in combination with registration for the 2.0 Masterclass Training.
In this masterclass, participants will receive the first written EMDR 2.0 protocol and will be guided step by step in how to use it. EMDR 2.0 developers, Ad de Jongh and Suzy Matthijssen, describe updated discoveries in the use of the 2.0 method and will demonstrate various applications and techniques such as how to overcome obstacles in therapy (e.g., dissociation and comorbidity). A format will be provided for participants to describe cases of patients for whom treatment with EMDR (2.0) proved difficult as an opportunity for the trainers to further explain considerations in the use of 2.0. The training will include multiple clinical examples and video clips to illustrate aspects of treatments in clinical practice.
An additional, part of the workshop will demonstrate ways to perform EMDR 2.0 via telehealth. This will include step-by-step instructions from MOOVD, a company that has developed methods to enhance online applications of EMDR 2.0. MOOVD representatives will provide guidance to on-site and virtual participants.

DAY 2: EMDR beyond PTSD
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: International treatment guidelines recommend EMDR therapy as an intervention of first choice for posttraumatic stress disorder. But because EMDR therapy is able to erode mental representations resulting from exposure to damaging events and to reduce the emotional charge of these memories, the method is increasingly being used and found to be effective in the treatment of a variety of other mental health conditions in addition to PTSD.
In this workshop, Suzy Matthijssen and Ad de Jongh discuss effective AIP informed case conceptualization backed by research findings that affirm a range of effective applications of EMDR therapy treating other clinical diagnosis and presenting problems.
The training features key findings and treatment recommendations for a variety of mental health conditions and patient groups that many consider difficult to treat. These include people presenting with symptoms of psychosis, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, depression, somatic symptoms, as well as those suffering from the psychological consequences of a traumatic childbirth and/or fear of childbirth. Treatment findings and recommendations will be illustrated by video clips of clinical treatment.
